I wanted a new desk. So I built one.

I would die a happy man if I never had to buy another piece of furniture or clothing. I would live a happy life constantly building and creating tables, chairs, pants or just about anything. While I don't have all the necessary skills, time or money for that lifestyle, I occasionally like to gallivant as if it were the case.

My latest foray into woodworking was one of my simpler projects. I used wire shelving as legs for the desk and built a top out of only five pieces of wood.

I bought a 2'x4' piece of cedar from the lumber yard and 1"x1.5" slats of pine. The thin slats of pine were used to create a trim around the edges of the piece of cedar.

All in all, I spent about six hours of time over four days to sand and stain the wood then put it all together.
